Organolead Mercaptides, Organoselenides and Organotellurides

The organolead mercaptides and homologs summarized in Tables 296 and 297 are prepared by methods from the following scheme. 

R = organic group, may be functionally substituted, X = halogen, n 2, 3. A.2.1 UNSUBSTITOTED organolead mercaptides and ORGANOTELLURIDES 

By rxn. of PhaPbClg with Pb(SCH2Ph)2 in ale. CeHe under reflux 

Activity as fungicide (220) against Aspergillus niger, Botrytis allii, Peni-cillium niger, Rhizopus nigricans (221). 

Use As antiwear agent in hydrocarbon lubricating oils (l685, 2239)
