Opium intoxicates

Naloxone may be of benefit in reversing the neurological and respiratory depressant effects of opium. A dose of 0.4-2.0 mg is given intravenously slowly, titrated to resumption of adequate respirations, and can be repeated as needed. Vital sign measurements and neurological checks should be monitored frequently until resolution. [Pg.1884]
