Operating theatre power

Glutaraldehyde (1,3-diformyl propane) is a powerful, cold disinfectant. It is used principally in aqueous solution as a biocide and chemical disinfectant. It has been widely used in the health services, e.g. in operating theatres, endoscopy units, dental units and X-ray film processing. 

The work presented in Section 12.7.1 was limited to one type of suture, size and power, and the suture used was uncoated braided polyester that tended to develop a secure knot in the 1=1 configuration. Tlie previously unknown effects of a change in power, and suture material and size on knot tensile properties were determined in this study. The laser used was one that was conunerdaUy available and generally found in operating theatres. 

Nickel-cadmium batteries are used for special emergency power supplies, as required in medical centres, intensive care units and operating theatres and similar applications where lighting interniption can be a matter of life or death.
