Operating temperature alkaline manganese

Li/CuO 1.5 Highest theoretical volumetric coulombic capacity (Ah/ L) long storage fife low- to moderate-rate capability operating temperature range up to 125 to 150°C no apparent voltage delay. Potential replacement for alkaline-manganese but not currently available. 

SAFT supply this type of battery. The particular advantages claim for lithium-copper oxide batteries are long operating life, long shelf life (up to 10 years projected) and high operating temperature (tested between — 20 and - -50°C). Volumetric capacity (Ah/dm ) is 750 compared with 300 for alkaline manganese dioxide, 400 for mercury-zinc and 500 for lithium—sulphur... 

This is typified by the curves shown in Figure 30.1 for alkaline manganese dioxide 1.5 V dry cells in which cell voltage is plotted against hours of service obtained from the cell when it is operated at a particular standard temperature (usually 20°C). Obviously such curves must be prepared when the cell is under a defined standard ohmic load. The alkaline manganese dioxide cell has a voltage of 1.5V/cell. If, as occurs in this example, it is used in an application requiring 1,25 V and the ohmic load is 150 2 then the current drain is...
