The lower resonance as well as the null in the resonance curve will be more or less washed out, depending on the onset frequency of the grating lobes. [Pg.249]

In the aspect ratio range 14.21 - 16.87, both boundaries oscillated with a relative frequency range 0.075 - 0.09 and wave nunber m = 1. This they called the wavy mode, similar onset frequencies have been measured by Sharif (14) using hot film probes with cylinder radius ratio 0.497. The aspect ratio was varied and the cell number also varied at each aspect ratio. [Pg.398]

With increasing temperature, T, the conductivity values increase and the onset of conductivity dispersion shifts to higher frequency. The latter effect can be detected in the PEM spectra of Fig. 4b and it is well known to also exist in other ionconducting materials. In Fig. 5, the common definition a v ) = Ic c is used for the onset frequency, v, which characterizes the transition from the dc into the dispersive regime. In both PEC materials, the onset points are on a straight line, but their slope differs. For x = 0.40, the slope is smaller than one, for x = 0.60 it exceeds one. This is one of the marked differences between the spectra of PEC that are rich in PDADMAC and those that are rich in NaPSS. The implications of this difference will be further discussed in Sect. 5.2 in the context of scaling principles. [Pg.107]

The special case of Summerfield scaling [69, 70] is fulfilled if g cT and v are proportional to each other. Connecting the onset frequencies in a plot of log( T 7) versus log(z/) yields a straight fine of slope 1. Summerfield scaling can be expressed by ... [Pg.125]

The temperature dependence of the onset frequencies p for all complex compositions can be described by the Baranovski-Cordes scaling function, which means thatj/ oc absolute values of a differ strongly with composition. [Pg.128]

In order to test whether the shape of the spectra shows any variation with humidity, it was tried to superimpose the different spectra by shifting them along the straight line connecting the onset frequencies, completely analogous to the treatment of temperature-dependent spectra. The results are displayed in Fig. 22, where the y- and x-axes are normalized in analogy to temperature-dependent... [Pg.130]
