Oligoadenylic acids

When a series of oligoadenylic acids d(A) n = 2-40) were present (total A/T = 1) in the 17g solution, hydrogels were formed after several days of incubation [40]. In the case of shorter d(A) n = 2-8), three-dimensionally intertwined nanofibers similar to those without a template were formed. For longer d(A) n = 10-40), however, formation of discrete helical nanofibers of 7-8 nm in width and several hundred nm in length were indicated, showing the template effect of the oligoadenylic acids.
