Olefin Hydrogenation Using H2 as a Stoichiometric Reductant

Using a two-step procedure, de Vries showed that FeNPs were effective hy- [Pg.361]

The procedure could be extended to the hydrogenation of styrene derivatives, giving excellent yields of the corresponding ethylbenzene derivatives, except for a-substituted and chloro-substituted styrenes. Surprisingly, the chloro-substituted styrenes did not undergo dehalogenation, but some polymerisation was observed.  [Pg.362]
