O-ISOTHIOCYANATO- CINNAMALDEHYDE

When quinoline is reacted with a combination of thiophosgene and KCN, o-isothiocyanato-( )-cinnamaldehyde and 3-oxoimidazo[l,5-a]quinoline are obtained (53) according to Scheme 6.1. It should be noted that the chlorothio-carbonyl function, which is quite soft, reacts readily with cyanide ion in preference to hydroxide. [Pg.79]
