Nylon cords

Tie an unused or a decontaminated bailer to a nylon cord with a reliable knot. Using a hand reel or a winch, lower the bailer into the well and slowly let it submerge. [Pg.147]

A fishing line is a good alternative to the nylon cord for lowering and lifting a bailer. Do not reuse the line, dispose of it together with the used bailer. [Pg.151]

Lower the unpreserved sample containers one by one into the water without disturbing bottom sediment. Direct the necks upstream and away from yourself, if you are in the water. If sampling from a bridge, tie a length of the nylon cord around the container s neck and lower the container into the water. Fill containers to the neck and cap them. [Pg.153]

Measure a length of nylon cord (or tubing, if a pump is used) equal to the discrete depth from which a sample will be collected and attach it to the sampling device. [Pg.155]

These solvent system tipping products provide Nylon tips to Nylon cord with proper heat/mold procedures. [Pg.292]

Weave the nylon cord through the neck of the gourd. Tie it securely in a knot on top. This will be used to hang your gourd from a tree or hook. [Pg.103]

Ply twisting Twisting of the tire yarn onto itself the required number of turns per inch two or more spools of twisted yarn are then twisted again into a cord for example, if two 840-denier nylon cords are twisted together, an 840/2 nylon cord construction is formed if three 1300-denier polyester cords are twisted together, they give a 1300/3 cord construction. [Pg.672]

A nylon cord was used to suspend the rack in the basin pool. The rack was lowered into the pool on 1998-10-15. This rack was allowed to remain immersed for one year. [Pg.166]

Flat Spotting n A characteristic of certain tire cords. It occurs with all materials but is more noticeable with nylon cord and is associated with nylon cord by users. Nylon exerts a shrinkage force as it becomes heated in tire operation. When the tire is stopped under load, the cord in the road-contact portion of the tire is under less tension than that in other portions of the tire, and it shrinks to conform to the flat surfece of the road. When cooled in this position, the cord maintains the flat spot until it again reaches its glass transition temperature in use. [Pg.311]

The nature of the fiber plays the most important role in RFL treatment of tire cords. We know that rayon and nylon cords are easy to bond to rubber by RFL treatment, but polyester cord is extremely difficult. This can be attributed to the nature and structure of the fiber. [Pg.586]

Considering plastic substrates, Pritchard [97] cites the dipping of nylon cords into a complex adhesive mixture of rubber and resorcinol-formaldehyde, as used in the production of tyres, as an example where hydrogen bonding may... [Pg.80]

There are many applications where the vibrancy of an artificial color is a defining factor. The fashion industry makes extensive use of synthetic fabrics (made of thermoplastic materials like nylon and polyester and acrylic), which are then dyed. There is also nylon cord and rope, in a variety of colors and... [Pg.272]
