Nuclear magnetic relaxation dispersion NMRD profile

The dependence of T (B) on the field B was soon nicknamed as the Ti dispersion curve or, more recently, as the Nuclear Magnetic Relaxation Dispersion (NMRD) profile. The first experimental curve of this type (Pig. 1) was published in 1950 by Ramsey and Pound (15,16). 

The mobility of proton containing molecules in foods can be investigated by the acquisition of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Dispersion (NMRD) profiles that report about the changes in the H-spin-lattice or longitudinal relaxation rate (Ri=l/Ti) as function of the applied magnetic field strength. 

Many micellar systems reported as potential contrast agents have been characterized with respect to their relaxation properties.
