Notices of Proposed Rulemaking NPRM

A Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) is published in the Federal Register with a copy of the proposed regulation. 

OSHA is proposing two standards to protect workers from exposure to respirable crystalline silica — one for general industry and maritime, and the other for construction — in order to allow employers to tailor solutions to the conditions in their workplaces. OSHA s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for Occupational Exposure to Respirable Crystalline Silica was published in the Federal Register on September 12, 2013.

Proposed fire safety regulations for upholstered furniture have existed since the CPSC issued various advanced notices of the proposed rulemaking in the 1990s and early 2000s, and a notice of the proposed rulemaking (NPRM) in 2007.21 However, no regulation exists in 2008.
