Nondenaturing Mode

The nondenaturing mode of DNA and RNA chromatography is used to separate double-stranded nucleic acids. This is most often used for DNA, but some short sequences of RNA can also be double-stranded. [Pg.307]

It has often been realized that the separation efficiency in the competitive CEIA mode is favorable compared to the noncompetitve mode, especially if free and bound antibodies are utilized. Ou and co-workers presented a relatively simple approach to solve this problem (15,16). They used nondenaturing SDS capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE) to analyze anti-bovine serum albumin (BSA) antibodies with UV detection. [Pg.321]

Native proteins are expected to remain folded when sprayed from neutral aqueous solutions. Under these conditions the folded (nondenatured) proteins lead to mass spectra consisting of a compact series of peaks that correspond to the molecular mass of the protein charged by a narrow range of H ions when the positive ion mode is used. Thus, a small protein-like lysozyme (molecular mass... [Pg.22]
