Nonasodium-carbonyl-hydrido-tris 3,3,3-phosphinetriylbenzenesulfonato cobaltate-nonahydrate, HCo CO TPPTS

NONASODIUM-CARBONYL-HYDRIDO-TRIS(3,3, 3 -PHOSPHINETRIYLBENZENESULFONATO)COBALTATE-NONAHYDRATE, HCo(CO)(TPPTS)j 9H2O 

Under Ar or N2 atmosphere, in a 50-mL, two-necked flask equipped with a gas inlet and dropping funnel, 120 mg (0.52 mmol) of CoCl2 5H20 is dissolved in 10 mL of water. Then 1.64 g (3.0 mmol) of tppts is added and the reaction mixture is cooled to 5°C. After the solids have dissolved with stirring. 

After completion the yellow solution is concentrated in a vacuum (10 torr) to one quarter of its original volume and subjected directly to column chromatography on Sephadex G-15. Yield 856 mg (89%, based on Co) canary-yellow powder.
