Non-linear optical components

The versatility of the chemistry of thiophene permits the elaboration of a large number of oligomers and polymers with different structural features. Various mixed polymers with perfectly alternating silanylene-thiophenylene units can be obtained. These oligomeric and polymeric structures containing both a silicon atom and a thiophene unit in the chain can lead to materials for specific applications (electronic molecular devices, non-linear optic components, etc.).
