Non-blocking metal electrodes with more than one mobile

3 Non-blocking metal electrodes with more than one mobile charge in the electrolyte [Pg.283]

The type of interface which will be considered in this section is typified by [Pg.283]

As in the previous section there is a single charged species Li which tends to equilibrate between the metal and the electrolyte, so that there is an equilibrium interfacial potential difference A(j at which Li is in equilibrium and this equilibrium is characterised by an exchange current io. The difference between this system and the systems considered in the [Pg.283]

In relation to describing the fundamental interfacial processes we are interested in determining the exchange current Iq. If the current which flows immediately after the application of an overpotential r is I l we have the relationship for 10 mV  [Pg.284]

For low salt concentrations will be difficult to measure and will not be related in a simple way to io (as discussed in the previous section). [Pg.284]
