Nomenclature, chemical shift assignments

Describe the nomenclature system for making chemical shift assignments of the anhydroglucose repeating units and the ether pendants (Figure 2) ... [Pg.307]

The application of the B resonance spectra to the study of the structure of polyboranes has been one of the most prolific areas of development of B n.m.r. However, a complete assignment of the spectrum is not always possible, but the general appearance and chemical-shift data are often sufficient to give support to proposed structures. Because of the complex nature of the polyboranes, readers who are not familiar with this field of work are advised to refer to the paper by Adams on the nomenclature of cage boranes. The B spectra of many of the parent polyboranes have been described and discussed by Lipscomb. The spectra of boranes have also been extensively reviewed by Schaeffer. [Pg.243]
