Nitromethoxymethanol nitrate

This ester, known as methyl ether nitronitrate (more correctly as nitromethoxymethanol nitrate), is a colourless, oily liquid, boiling at 48°C at 15 mm Hg with a specific gravity 1.50 at 20°C. It readily dissolves collodion cotton, and is more volatile than nitroglycol.
