Nitrogen molecule, energy levels

Nitrogen membrane systems, 27 278-280 Nitrogen molecule, energy levels of,... [Pg.627]

The photoelectron spectrum of nitrogen (N2) has several peaks, a pattern indicating that electrons can be found in several energy levels in the molecule. Each main group of lines corresponds to the energy of a molecular orbital. The additional "fine structure" on some of the groups of lines is due to the excitation of molecular vibration when an electron is expelled. [Pg.243]

The QCT reaction cross sections are first compared with the TCE chemistry model. In Figs. 9(a)-9(c), the reactiop cross sections are shown as a function of translational collision energy at three vibrational energy levels (u = 0, 7, and 13), for rotational levels specified by J = 0, 64, and 126 respectively. While the rotational and vibrational quantum numbers J and V refer to the reacting nitrogen molecule, the translational collision energy is that for the N2-O pair. [Pg.108]
