Nitro compounds hydrogen bonding

When the gas and liquid flows are cocurrent upward, needed at the top to retain the catalyst particles. Such a unit has been used for the hydrogenation of nitro and double bond compounds and... [Pg.2119]

More recently, Stepanov et al. (1989) investigated the acid-base properties of the zwitterion 3.22 which is obtained in the diazotization of 5-amino-3-nitro-l,2,4-triazole. Under alkaline conditions the (Z)-diazoate dianion 3.23 is formed. It can be isomerized thermally to give the (E)-diazoate dianion 3.24. If the solution of this compound is acidified, the primary addition of a proton takes place at the anionic ring nitrogen yielding 3.25, and subsequently the hydrogen-bond-stabilized (Z)-iso-mer (3.26). Further acidification gives the nitrosoamine (3.27). [Pg.61]

This review covers the personal view of the authors deduced from the literature starting in the middle of the Nineties with special emphasis on the very last years former examples of structure-sensitive reactions up to this date comprise, for example, the Pd-catalyzed hydrogenation of butyne, butadiene, isoprene [11], aromatic nitro compounds [12], and of acetylene to ethylene [13], In contrast, benzene hydrogenation over Pt catalysts is considered to be structure insensitive [14] the same holds true for acetonitrile hydrogenation over Fe/MgO [15], CO hydrogenation over Pd [16], and benzene hydrogenation over Ni [17]. For earlier reviews on this field we refer to Coq [18], Che and Bennett [9], Bond [7], as well as Ponec and Bond [20]. [Pg.168]

Alternatively, Ballini devised a new strategy to synthesize tri-alkylated pyrroles from 2,5-dialkylfurans and nitroalkanes <00SL391>. This method involves initial oxidation of 2,5-dimethylfuran with magnesium monoperoxyphthalate to cA-3-hexen-2,5-dione (6). Conjugate addition of the nitronate anion derived from the nitro compound 7 to 6 followed by chemoselective hydrogenation of the C-C double bond of the resulting enones 8 (obtained by elimination of nitrous acid from the Michael adduct) completes the conversion to the alkylated y-diketones 9. Final cyclization to pyrroles 10 featured improved Paal-Knorr reaction conditions involving reaction of the diketones with primary amines in a bed of basic alumina in the absence of solvent. [Pg.112]

Hydrogen bonding and complex formation involving compounds with amino, nitroso and nitro groups... [Pg.423]

Formic acid, anhydrous (M.W. 46.03, m.p. 8.5°, b.p. 100.8°, density 1.22), or a 90% aqueous solution, is an excellent hydrogen donor in catalytic hydrogen transfer carried out by heating in the presence of copper [77] or nickel [77]. Also its salt with triethylamine is used for the same purpose in the presence of palladium [72, 73], Conjugated double bonds, triple bonds, aromatic rings and nitro compounds are hydrogenated in this way. [Pg.36]
