Nitrido-bis triphenylphosphorus l Nitrite

Tetrahydrofuran (THF) and diethyl ether are freshly distilled from sodium benzophenone ketyl under nitrogen. Hexane is freshly distilled from potassium metal under nitrogen. Pentacarbonyl iron (Strem Chemical Company), sodium nitrite, and /i-nitrido-bis(tiiphenylphosphorus)(l-i-) chloride, (PNP)G (Alfa Chemicals) are used as obtained. Dodecacarbonyl triruthenium is synthesized from ruthenium trichloride trihydrate (Alfa Chemicals) in the manner described by Mantovani and Cenini.  [Pg.164]

Anhydrous (PNP)N02 is a white, air-stable solid. It is very soluble in CH2CI2, acetonitrile, methanol and ethanol slightly soluble in acetone THF and water and insoluble in diethyl ether and hexane. [Pg.165]
