Nickel complexes, with triaryl

The IR bands in a number of nickel complexes of triaryl formazans have been assigned by Arnold and Schiele.415 A similar assignment of the electronic bands has been carried out.414 LCAO-MO calculations correlate well with these assignments417 and have been extended to include both inner ligand transitions as well as charge transfer bands and d—d transitions.418 EPR spectra have been used to study the nature of bonding in copper complexes of heterocyclic-containing formazans.419 Metal formazan complexes have also been studied by electrochemistry.283,398 420-422... [Pg.273]

Rhodium and nickel have been by far the most common metals aside from palladium employed in Suzuki-Miyaura carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions. Platinum has been used on several occasions, for example Bedford and Hazelwood showed that platinum complexes with n-acidic, ortfto-metalated triaryl phosphite and phosphinite ligands exhibited what they termed unexpectedly good activity in Suzuki biaryl coupling reactions with aryl bromide substrates (Scheme 13.22). Application to aryl chlorides resulted in low conversion to the desired biaryl products. [Pg.402]

Tetrakis(triaryl phosphite)nickel(O) and tetrakis(trialkyl phosphite)nickel(O) complexes have been prepared by the reaction of the desired phosphite with nickel carbonyl under forcing conditions and by the reaction of bis(cyclopenta-dienyl) nickel with the desired phosphite in an aromatic solvent. The present procedure is similar to the last-mentioned method. [Pg.181]
