Niches, multiple

During the mobilization HSC are loosing the connection with the niche cells, though returning to their places later. Such a disturbance may cause an accelerating turnover of HSC. The alterations of concentration of hematopoietic precursors of different stages of maturation in the bone marrow of mice subjected to multiple G-CSF treatment were studied in the presented work. 

Device development for powder injection also may gain much more momentum with the successful market introduction and penetration of a first product, most likely a hepatitis B vaccine. Of course, this product has to compete with other dosage forms and has to prove superiority to gain acceptance and become more than a niche product. Multiple-dose devices for powder injection probably will take much longer to market. Similar to inhalation devices, such systems will require advanced features such as dose counting and logbook functions. 

Major drawbacks of tris(trimethylsilyl)silane relative to tri-n-butyltin hydride, however, are the cost of the reagent, the need to handle the reagent under argon and the propensity of the tris(trimethysilyl)silyl radical to add to multiple bonds. Many other silicon and germanium hydrides, as well as sulfur, selenium, and phosphorous radical transfer reagents have been investigated as tin hydride alternatives and while many have niche applications, none so far have the flexibihty or range of apphcations of tin hydrides. ...
