Neutron cross-section crystallography

The application of the neutron analysis requires knowledge of the scattering lengths in a medium and the absorption cross sections of constituent elanents. The same values are needed for individual isotopes as weU. Such information is required not only to calculate unit cell structural factors in neutron crystallography but also to correct for the effects of absorption, self-shielding, etc. Neutron spectroscopy of boron-containing materials is characterized with peculiarities related to nuclei. [Pg.48]
