5 -Nucleotidase nervous tissue

This was the first specific nucleotidase to be discovered. It hydrolyzes adenosine-5 -phosphate and inosine-5 -phosphate, but does not attack adenosine-3 -phosphate. The enzyme is present in retina, nervous tissue, prostate, testis, and sperm. No fractionation studies have been carried out.
