Neodymium crystal structure

These new silyl complexes are monomeric in benzene solution, but are dimeric in the solid state. The crystal structure of the samarium analogue (Figure 1) shows that dimers form via intermolecular Sm-CH3-Si interactions. The Sm-Si distance, 3.052 (8) A, is to our knowledge the longest metal-silicon distance known. As with other complexes that display Ln-CH3-Si interactions in the solid state, evidence for these interactions in solution is not observed in NMR spectra. The [H NMR chemical shifts for the neodymium... [Pg.228]

Although they are not macrocyclic ligands, polyethyleneglycols behave somewhat similarly to the crown ethers regarding lanthanide complexation, as established by a number of crystal structure determinations. Thus a series of neodymium complexes shows consistent 10-coordination, namely [Nd(N03)3(tri-eg)],458 where tri-eg is triethyleneglycol, [Nd(N03)2(penta-eg)]N03,458 and [Nd(N03)2(N03)(tetra-eg)],459 where N03 is monodentate. The larger La3+ ion shows 11-coordination in [La(N03)3(tetra-eg)].460... [Pg.1093]

FIGURE 16 The crystal structures of EuAuPb and NdNiPb. The europium (neodymium), nickel, and lead atoms are drawn as medium gray, black filled, and open circles, respectively. The mixed-occupied Au/Pb site in the EuAuPb structure is shown with segments. The three-dimensional [TPb] networks are emphasized. [Pg.81]

The neodymium complex of the formula, Nd(N03)3(Ph3P0)2(C2H50H) has been synthesized and the crystal structure shows it to be nine-coordinate [172]. [Pg.410]

The materials derived from YBa2Cu307 by replacing yttrium with other rare earth elements (lutetium, ytterbium, thulium, erbium, hohnium, dysprosium, gadolinium, europium, samarium, neodymium, lanthanum) are also superconductors, with r, s of 88 to 96 K. The crystal structures of RBa2Cu307 are almost the same as those of YBa2Cu307. The lattice constant is slightly different for the different ionic radii of the rare earth elements, and yet their chemical and physical properties are almost the same as those of YBa2Cu307. [Pg.420]

Praseodymium and neodymium built almost identical structures with myo-inositol. In the crystal structures of [Pr(myo-Ins)]Cl3 9 H2O [100] and [Nd(myo-Ins)]Cl3 9 H2O [101], by triva-lent lanthanide cations complexed myo-inositol, each Pr or Nb is coordinated to nine oxygen atoms, two from the inositol (two adjacent hydroxyl groups) and seven from water molecules... [Pg.1108]

Monomeric tris-(r/2-pyrazolate)-lanthanoid complexes with the bulky 3,5-di(/-butyl)pyrazolate ligand, of general formula [M(r-Bu2pz)3(thf )2] (M = La, Nd, Gd. or Er), were obtained by reaction of Hg(C6F3)2 and 3.5-/-BupzH with an excess of lanthanoid metal in THF at room temperature. The X-ray crystal structure of the neodymium derivative was also reported (191). [Pg.218]

Similar reaction in an acetylene atmosphere gives the neutral dimers [(oepg)Ln]2 [(/c-C2)(/x-Na)4]. X-ray crystal structure analysis of the neodymium derivative (Figure 19b) shows the acetylide dianion end on bonded to the two metal centers. [Pg.4247]
