Natural ferromanganese sediments

Natural ferromanganese sediments are, of course, mixtures of several mineral phases, including a significant proportion of Fe oxyhydroxides. Therefore, it is possible that adsorption to manganese oxides is not the only way in which Mo is incorporated in oxic sediments. Koschinsky and Hein [28] conducted sequential leaching experiments to determine whether various metals are primarily associated with Mn or with Fe oxyhydroxide phases in ferromanganese cmsts and nodules. [Pg.326]
