Most of the reported supramolecular assemblies based on coordination compounds exhibit rather interesting structures and properties, however, they are not all suitable for nanotechnological applications, especially in molecular devices. In analogy to the current electronic devices, they should fulhll several requirements and, in particular, be easily assembled as molecular layers and interfaces.
