Nanofibrous Membranes as Coating Material

4 Applications of Electrochemical Sensors Based on Electrospinning 13.4.1 Nanofibrous Membranes as Coating Material [Pg.361]

With such configuration, the surface of the working electrode becomes protected by the functionalities of the membrane. Also, the electrode properties such as sensitivity and selectivity are changed due to this modification. But no chemical bond is formed between the electrode surface and the membrane. However, the electrode feeW the membrane, in the sense that any chemical which diffuses toward the electrode surface, have first to pass through the membrane. The membrane functionalities can trigger different mechanisms or reactions, extending the potential applications of electrochemical sensors. [Pg.361]
