Also, the electrode properties such as sensitivity and selectivity are changed due to this modification. But no chemical bond is formed between the electrode surface and the membrane. However, the electrode feeW the membrane, in the sense that any chemical which diffuses toward the electrode surface, have first to pass through the membrane.
