Multifunction boards

Multifunction boards are commonly used to measure analog signals. It is done by the ADC, which converts the analog voltage level into a digital number that the computer can interpret. The analog multiplexer (MUX), the instrumentation amplifier, the sample-and-hold (S/H) circuitry, and the ADC comprise the analog input section of a multifunction board (see Fig. 18.26). [Pg.1940]

In addition, because the controller was integrated into the same assembly as the drive, the only board that needed to be installed in the computer was an adapter that converted signals between the motherboard and the drive/control-ler. The board is normally called a pass-through or paddle board. (This board is often, incorrectly, called a controller. The term is incorrect because the paddle board is often integrated with a floppy controller, two serial ports, a game port, and a parallel port. In fact, this combination is normally called a multifunction interface board.) With some of today s systems, the IDE adapter is integrated into the motherboard. [Pg.173]

The constant fiber content allows the production of constant high quality composites. Main applications are in the aerospace sector (mostly using multifunctional epoxy monomers), sporting goods (rackets, skis, bike frames, golf items, baseball bats, etc.), and in the electronic industry (printed circuit boards). Autoclaves usually required for the reaction are expensive, slow to operate, and limited in size. [Pg.529]

The detector includes a high-pressure mercury - xenon arc lamp, oriented perpendicular to the migration path, at the end of the capillary. The sample signal is measured with a photomultiplier and a photometer connected to the analog/digiial converter of a multifunction interface board, connected to a microcomputer. [Pg.364]

Dual cure coatings, based on multifunctional acrylates to which a small quantity of a polythiol has been added, have been proposed as conformal coatings for completed printed circuit boards UV exposure causes a rapid setting of the coating,... [Pg.35]

A multifunctional material is typically a composite or hybrid of several distinct material phases, in which each phase performs a different but necessaiy function, such as stmcture, transport, logic, or energy storage. Because each phase of the material performs an essential function, and because there is little or no parasitic weight or volume, multifunctional materials promise more weight-efficient, volume-efficient performance flexibility and potentially less maintenance than traditional multicomponent brass-board systems. The finer and more distributed the integration scale in the material, the faster and more antonomous the reaction times. [Pg.48]
