Mrp2 transport activity

Hagmann W, Schubert J, Konig J, et al. Reconstitution of transport-active multidrug resistance protein 2 (MRP2 ABCC2) in proteoliposomes. Biol Chem 2002 383 (6) 1001-1009. [Pg.412]

Both NPTl and MRP2 appear to be involved in the apical efflux of organic anions, the second membrane step in secretion. Transport through NPTl occurs down an electrochemical gradient, whereas MRP2 transport is primarily active. [Pg.54]

MRP2 ATP activated multidrug resistance transporter. Might also participate to PAH and organic anions luminal transport [88, 89]... [Pg.32]

C. C. Paulusma, R. P. Oude Elferink et al. Drug export activity of the human canalicular multispecific organic anion transporter in polarized kidney MDCK cells expressing cMOAT (MRP2) cDNA, J. Clin. Invest. 1998, 101, 1310-1319... [Pg.88]

A related protein, MRP3, has similar structure to this mutated MRP2 and can transport taurocholic acid but mutation of the equivalent residue, leucine 1084, with lysine-blocked transport of taurocholic acid. In cholestasis there is an induction of MRP3 mRNA suggesting that this transporter is active, at least when bile-acid concentrations are raised within the hepatocyte. This transporter function is shown in Figure 2.1. [Pg.25]
