Monoterpenoid bisindole alkaloids

Because of the important biological activities and unique chemical structures, monoterpenoid bisindole alkaloids have attracted considerable attention among researchers of natural product chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, plant science, pharmacology, and so on. Further studies on this class of alkaloids will certainly contribute to the great development of pure and applied science. [Pg.307]

In Chapter 4, Mariko Kitajima and Hiromitsu Takayama present Monoterpenoid Bisindole Alkaloids. Previous full coverages of the bisin-dole alkaloids from terrestrial plants have been published in this series by Geoffrey A. Cordell and J. Edwin Saxton in Chapter 1 of Volume 20 (1981) and by Toh-Seok Kam and Yeun-Mun Choo in Chapter 4 of Volume 63 (2006). In the present article, the authors reviewed the research on monoterpenoid bisindole alkaloids published from the middle of2006 till the middle of 2015, a time span with a highly dynamic development in this area. [Pg.345]
