Molecular mechanics nonlinear optical activity

For this reason the nonlinear optics of organic materials has become and still is a very active field of work of interest in both basic and applied science. Several theoretical and experimental efforts have been devoted to the evaluation of molecular hyperpolarizabilities and to the study of the mechanisms that make organic materials suitable for optoelectronic and photonic applications [239-242].
