Mold latch-plate

Latch plate A plate used for retaining a removable mold core of relatively large diameter, or for holding insert-carrying pins on the upper part of a mold. Release of the pins or core is effected by moving the latch plate. [Pg.565]

For demolding the multi-gate runner, an additional parting surface is needed. The mold now consists not only of "fixed plate and ejector plate but has an additional middle plate which is moved by latches and stopped by anchor bolts. The parting surface of the gate opens first. [Pg.54]

Figure 10.17 illustrates a semiautomatic floating-plate (loose-plate) mold. The floating plate is a permanent component of the press. It has an opening at its center that will accommodate different size pots and plungers that are needed to fabricate different parts. The floating plate moves either by hydraulic or pneumatic force or by bolts/latches that are built into the mold. An important advantage of these molds is their low cost. [Pg.285]
