Molar Mass Distribution by SEC

Dissolving PAG in water during a DSC cycle indeed causes a shift of the molar mass distribution to lower values, as shown in Fig. 9.4. So, shortening of the polyamide chains by scission takes place. However, after a cycle stUl a polyamide results with a fairly high molar mass. On the other hand, as is well known from industrial practice, also processing from the molten state shifts the molar mass distribution towards lower values. This processing-induced equilibrium molar mass may well be situated in between the molar mass associated with dissolution-induced scission and that of the native material. It
