Mobilization of reserves

Dawson (1952) did not find any difference in the demethylation activity of normal fresh leaves of Nicotiana glutinosa and leaves which had been starved for 30 hr (by being cultured in water). He concludes that the demethylation process does not serve as some sort of mobilization of reserves. [Pg.201]
