Mn2

Mn2(H2P202)2) is the stable product in the potentiometric deterrnination of manganese. Manganese(III) does not coordinate with amines or nitro complexes, but it does make manganicyanides of the types M2(Mn(CN)g) and M2(Mn(CN) (OH)), which are similar to the ferricyanides. The K", Na", LC and manganicyanides have been prepared and slowly hydroly2e in water to MnO(OH). [Pg.507]

MetaHoelement complexes may be useful for the post-irradiation treatment of radiation injury, based on the observation that several of these compounds accelerate recovery of, among other things, lympho/hemopoiesis. Preirradiation Mn2(0)(DIPS)g increases the survival of y-irradiated mice (103). Treatment of mice that have been exposed to an LD q q dose of y-rays plus Mn2(0)(DIPS)g either 1 or 3 h after irradiation also increases survival, which supports the hypothesis that this compound is an effective radiorecovery agent (105). Again, this increase in survival may result from the resynthesis of radiation-depleted Mn-dependent enzymes that facHitate the recovery of immunocompetence and tissue repair, as reported for Cu(II)2(DIPS)4. [Pg.491]

Polynuclear Carbonyls. Several stmctures consist of dinuclear metal carbonyls as shown in stmctures (4)—(6). The metal atoms in Mn2(CO) Q, as also for technetium and rhenium, are held together by a metal—metal bond and the compound contains 10 terminal CO ligands, five coordinated to each atom. The CO ligands of Mn2(00) 0 adopt a staggered configuration as illustrated in stmcture... [Pg.63]

Low Pressure Syntheses. The majority of metal carbonyls are synthesized under high pressures of CO. Early preparations of carbonyls were made under superpressures of 1 GPa (ca 10,000 atm). Numerous reports have appeared in the Hterature concerning low pressure syntheses of metal carbonyls, but the reactions have been restricted primarily to the carbonyls of the transition metals of Groups 8—10 (VIII). A procedure for preparing Mn2(CO)2Q, however, from commercially available methylcyclopentadienyknanganese tricarbonyl [12108-13-3] and atmospheric pressures of CO has been reported (117). The carbonyls of mthenium (118,119), rhodium (120,121), and iridium (122,123) have been synthesized in good yields employing low pressure techniques. In all three cases, very low or even atmospheric pressures of CO effect carbonylation. Examples of successful low pressure syntheses are... [Pg.68]

There is also growing iaterest ia thin-film dielectric capacitors. For example, through the use of processiag techniques such as sol—gel solution deposition, thin (--- 0.25 fim) ceramic layers having dielectric constants ranging from 500 to 2000 ia the PZT, Pb(Zr,Ti)03, and PMN—PT, Pb(Mn2 3Nb2 3)03-PbTi03, compositional families respectively, have been prepared (3). [Pg.343]
