FEMA has ten regional offices, and t o area offices. F.ach region serves several state.s, and regional staff work directly with the stales to help plan for disasters, develop mitigation programs, and meet needs w hen major disasters occur. 

Certainly, there are still many puzzles in dealing with magnetic bacteria. However, using these bacteria in mitigation programs may prove to be more efficient than other MIC control methods, if research in this very new and exotic area of MIC is supported in the manner it deserves. 

In these instances, a simple balance between what you get (mitigation programs) and what you lose (corrosion) could be instmctive. Javaherdashti in his study of the economy of the treatment of MIC induced by hydrotesting emphasises some important aspects of applying a successful mitigation program [26]. A brief of this study is given below. 

MIC caused by hydrotesting is certainly a case requiring that mitigation programs be launched. For very clear reasons, although all mitigation programs aim at the reduction and elimination of unwanted corrosion, they differ in both extent and application principles. It must be noted that the approach discussed here can be applied to any case of corrosion, whether MIC or not. 

Mainly before and after any mitigation program, some steps must be checked these steps are confirmation , mitigation , control , and feedback .

On the other hand, a very important factor in applying a successful mitigation program is to know how to evaluate whether it was both suitable and cost-effective. In other words, one has to see how beneficial the mitigation program was, both technically and economically [27].
