The research described here is supported by the AFOSR (MURl and DURINT programs) and the National Science Foundation (NSEC program). Important contributors to these projects have been my students and postdocs (Anne Lazarides, Guosheng Wu, Hai Long, Diego Troya, Ronald Pascual, Lance Kelly, and LinLin Zhao) as well as Tim Minton (Montana State) and Chad Mirkin (Northwestern). [Pg.152]

The support for our research by the National Science Foundation and the Robert A. Welch Foundation is gratefully acknowledged. We also thank our coworkers, colleagues, and collaborators referenced in joint publications whose insightful comments and enduring efforts have contributed positively to the body of work discussed in this chapter. Finally, we thank Royce W. Murray, Wolfgang J. Lorenz, Allen J. Bard, John T. Marker , Chad A. Mirkin, and Robin McCarley for useful discussions. [Pg.1055]
