Minor effect—CO2 in feed gas

Metallurgical and waste acid-regeneration gases contain up to 8 volume% CO2 from fuels and waste acid hydrocarbons. This CO2 has no effect on SO2 + O.5O2— S03 equilibrium curves but it does affect  

The effect is quite small, especially after three beds (Fig. 18.3). 

The difference after three beds is very small. The first catalyst bed feed gas contains 9.8 volume% SO2, 

11 volume% O2, the specified amount of SO3, remainder N2. Gas pressure is 1.2 bar in all beds. Gas input
