Note that typically, the above driver dissipation equation underestimates the actual driver dissipation by almost 20% — as can be confirmed by integrating the product of the drive current and the voltage across it, over each sub-interval. The reason for the error is simply the Miller plateau — because during this interval, some additional current (other than from the stored charge Qg), gets injected into the drive resistor.
