Mendes et al. investigated supercritical fluid extraction with CO2 on different microalgae. In the case of Botryococcus braunii, the long-chained hydrocarbon components (alkadienes and trienes) could be extracted by means of SCCO2 (at a constant temperature of 40 °C).
