Methyl-5-hexen-4-olide (55e), presumably a metabolite of linalool oxide (furanoid), was found among the ten lactones (655) of lavender oil (310) as well as in wine (547) and Japanese hop (427). Its hydrogenation product (55d) was isolated from Burley tobacco (111).
