Methods of sampling bituminous binders

Sampling of the bituminous binder material, namely, bitumen, modified bitumen or bituminous emulsion, can be carried out from a delivery vehicle tank, from a plant storage tank, from pipelines during unloading or from feed pipes to the mixer. 

Sampling from a delivery vehicle tank or from pipelines during unloading is more representative for the bituminous binder delivered, while sampling from a storage tank or feed pipes to the mixer is more representative for the bituminous binder to be incorporated into the mixture.
