Methacrylate difunctional

The use of hydroxyethyl (also hydroxypropyl) methacrylate as a monomer permits the introduction of reactive hydroxyl groups into the copolymers. This offers the possibility for subsequent cross-linking with an HO-reactive difunctional agent (diisocyanate, diepoxide, or melamine-formaldehyde resin). Hydroxyl groups promote adhesion to polar substrates. [Pg.1013]

During the last 5 years, there have been several reports of multiblock copolymer brushes by the grafting-from method. The most common substrates are gold and silicon oxide layers but there have been reports of diblock brush formation on clay surfaces [37] and silicon-hydride surfaces [38]. Most of the newer reports have utilized ATRP [34,38-43] but there have been a couple of reports that utilized anionic polymerization [44, 45]. Zhao and co-workers [21,22] have used a combination of ATRP and nitroxide-mediated polymerization to prepare mixed poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)Zpolystyrene (PS) brushes from a difunctional initiator. These Y-shaped brushes could be considered block copolymers that are surface immobilized at the block junction. [Pg.130]

Materials. Difunctional Reagents Isocyanatoethyl methacrylate (IEM) was supplied by Dow Chemical Co. as an experimental reagent. Meta TMI is available from Cyan amid, Inc. [Pg.516]

Fissure sealants are clear, low-viscosity, photocurable liquids, based on a mixture of tetrafunctional and difunctional methacrylates. Other dental photocurable materials are cements, adhesives and denture base resins.66-68... [Pg.150]

Allyl methacrylate and allyl acrylate are difunctional monomers, triallyl phosphate is a trifunctional monomer, and polyethylene glycol dimethacrylate is a polyfunctional monomer. All these lead to cross-linked graft copolymers. [Pg.6]

Similar to developments in NF and RO, solvent-resistant U F membranes could be the basis for a wide range of novel applications. Cross-linked integrally anisotropic membranes are explored with particular emphasis, and a very promising example are membranes made from poly(acrylonitrile-co-glycidyl methacrylate) that after NIPS had been cross-linked with ammonia or other tri- or difunctional amines [34],... [Pg.36]
