Measurement of enhancement

If the weak bonding model is valid for high angle grain boundaries (>20°) it follows that diffusion in amorphous preparations of a given material should also show this measure of enhanced diffusion, when compared widr die crystalline material. [Pg.199]

Measurements of enhancement spectra exist for several gases and mixtures. Figure 3.14 shows the collision-induced absorption spectra of H2-X pairs, with X = He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe [213]. The translational lines were omitted for technical reasons. Because the spectra are recorded at room temperature, the So(J) lines of H2 are quite diffuse. Most prominent is the So(l) line at 587 cm-1, but lines at other rotational transition frequencies of H2 are also discernible, for example So(0) at 354 cm-1, So(2) at 815 cm-1, and So(3) at 1035 cm-1, especially for the massive pairs. [Pg.87]

The measurement of enhanced light reflection provides direct information concerning intermediates, products and the kinetics of the photopolymerization at the air-water interface. [Pg.118]

The characteristics of liquid reaction with various values for M are listed in Table 7.1. It can be seen that, in the last two cases, i.e. Vm" <0.3, the processes are controlled by reaction kinetics and so enhancement of transfer becomes of no use in the medium case of 1, both diffusion and reaction kinetics affect the overall rate of the process, a measure of enhancing transfer may have a certain positive effect while in the former two cases, i.e. 4m >3, the reaction(s) in liquid proceed fast, the global processes are controlled by diffusion, and thus the measure of enhancing transfer will play a positive key role. [Pg.154]

Much more work, both theoretical and experimental, needs to be done for IDLS to become a well characterized technique. Numerical solutions to realistic laser rate equations, for example, as well as measurement of enhancement as a function of various laboratory parameters will increase IDLS usefulness as an analytical technique. [Pg.454]
