The representation of kinetics by appropriate equations is another aspect of modelling, some aspects of which have been reviewed by Brown et al. (B106). A more complete understanding of the kinetic laws governing the various stages of the hydration process, especially if it took into account the more recent microstructural evidence, would contribute to the power of models of the kinds described above.
