A possible approach for many problems is the long-term registration of the peak area or height of a reference material (with a control chart) and the calculation of its standard deviation this yields the repeatability RepRef. This is not yet a measurement uncertainty because what must also be considered are the uncertainty of the purity of the reference material and the repeatability of the recovery (as well, strictly speaking, also the mass uncertainties of sample and reference, values which are very low if the weighing goods are not critical).
