The related intermediate 453 has also been used to supply the chiral hydroxyl center of the hydroxynonenoic acid 458 [144]. This acid fragment is common to jaspamide and geodia-molide A, both of which are cyclodepsipeptides isolated from lower marine organisms (sponges).
