Manganese chloride MnCl

The influence of three dietary factors - pectin, cellulose and phytates - on plasma uptake of manganese (Mn) was studied in adults administered Mn tolerance tests. Plasma samples were collected at hourly intervals following administration of various doses of several Mn salts. It was found that a 40 to 50 mg dose of elemental Mn was necessary to produce consistent plasma responses and that manganese chloride (MnCl ) was better absorbed than the sulfate or acetate form. In fasting subjects, plasma Mn was 0.64, 1.29, 1.12, 0.95, and 0.75 ug/L at hours 0, 1,... [Pg.112]

A 2.747-g sample of manganese metal is reacted with excess HCl gas to produce 3.22 L of H2(g) at 373 K and 0.951 atm and a manganese chloride compound (MnCl,(). What is the formula of the manganese chloride compound produced in the reaction ... [Pg.190]

This oxide is obtained when the peroxide is acted on by hydrogen gas at a red-heat. But the best method is to heat to redness a mixture of 1 part of dry chloride of manganese, 1 part of sal-ammoniac, and 2 parts of diy carbonate of soda. The chloride acts on the soda, MnCl + NaO = MnO -b NaCl forming oxide of manganese and chloride of sodium while the carbonic acid escapes as gas the sal-ammoniac is also expelled ... [Pg.165]

The pH dependence and mechanism of oxidation of iodide by chloramine-T have also been described. Palladium(ii) has been shown to be a catalyst in the oxidation of chloride by manganese(iii). 5 The complex MnCl + is formed during the reaction possibly via a chloride-bridged dinuclear intermediate with the catalyst. There is also evidence for Pd v formation. [Pg.104]
