Data quality information How good are the data Is information available that allows user to decide whether the data are suitable for their project What are the positional and attribute accuracies Are the data complete Were the consistency of the data verified  

Spatial data reference information Mechanism used to represent spatial information in the data set. How many spatial objects are there Are methods other than coordinates used to encode locations  

Spatial reference information Description of the reference frame for, and the means to encode, coordinates in the data set. Examples are latitude, longitude, and depth in meters or feet. 

Entity and attribute information Details about the information content of the data set, including entity types, their attributes, and the domains from which attribute values may be assigned. Examples are elevations, temperature, and so on.
